Who am I?

My name is Aydie Abdulrahim. I’m from Woodbridge, VA and currently live in Richmond, VA. I like to spend time with my friends, dad jokes, and riding my bike. I’m a Fashion Merchandising student at VCU pursuing a career in product development or brand strategy for a luxury fashion house.

Through my time in VCU’s Fashion program, I’ve built a solid understanding of branding, business strategy, consumer behavior, retail math, and merchandising. These experiences have helped me see how brands make creative and business decisions, and they’ve strengthened my interest in how fashion connects to both culture and the market.

Achievements/Awards

2025 Fashion Scholarship Fund x TJX Scholar: Developed a Merchandising plan for a conceptual collaboration between Birkenstock and Artec3D to create inclusive footwear for all foot shapes.

2026 Fashion Scholarship Fund Applicant: Even though I lost, I still developed a long-term Business Strategy plan for a conceptual collaboration between Dior & HarperCollins Publishers.

My Logo

Drawn by my great-aunt Marylee, my logo sits at the top of my website. She created playful illustrations for everyone in our family, including mine of five little characters spelling out my name. Tucked away in drawers for years, the illustration would disappear and reappear, but it always found its way back to me.

With such a unique name, the illustration has always felt distinctly personal. Seeing “Aydie” spelled out by those characters makes me feel both grounded in my childhood and reminded that creativity can be deeply tied to the people who shaped us.

Over time, this drawing has turned into one of my favorite things in the world. It is the symbol of my childhood and a cherished memory of MaryLee, who passed in 2013. It has inspired the joyful, imaginative energy that I aim to bring into my life, and has quietly influenced the way I show up in the world today.
